Firstly let me apologise for everyone who thought that the next book was going to be Jim Henson’s A Tale Of Sand. My reason for delaying this book is the fact that it is simply OUT OF STOCK :( I’ve heard from Travelling Man that the HC version sold very quickly and they are waiting to reprint for the SC version as is everyone else. You can buy it but at over the RRP on Amazon. I will be keeping an eye the reprint and do the group as soon as it becomes available.

Now let us get onto our replacement!!! For July, we are having a science fiction double bill where we come upon 2000AD yet again in the form of Mazeworld ( and also look at a sci-fi from across the pond called Prophet (

Mazeworld is a literally Cerebral sci-fi/fantasy trilogy created by one of the finest duos in comics, Alan Grant and Arthur Ranson.
These two have had a long history working on many solo projects but their partnership is famous in 2000AD creative circles, being the people behind Button Man and many a fantastic Judge Anderson story. This is a tale of Adam Cadman, the first man to be hanged in Britain since 1964. In the process of being executed, he finds himself in the last seconds of death being transported to an amazing other world populated by beasts and warriors with the populace thinking the hanged man, a legend in their lore.

Prophet is a sci-fi reimaging of an old Jeph Loeb character by Brandon Graham, who some of our members may remember as the creator of King City. On distant future Earth, changed by time and alien influence, John Prophet awakes from cryosleep. His mission: to climb the the towers of Thauili Van and restart the Earth empire. News of the Empire’s return brings old foes and allies out of the recesses of the vast cosmos.

I hope you can come one and all and simply ask you to remember to bring money for food if you interested (about a fiver) plus a recommended donation of £2 for the Madlab that hosts us.

Hope to see you there!!!
