Title: Arduino Day 2015 – ‘Awkward Arcade’ Hackday
Location: MadLab, 36-40 Edge Street, M4 1HN
Start Time: 10:00
End Time: 18:00
Description: Saturday March 28th is Arduino Day (https://day.arduino.cc) , an international celebration of the open source electronics platform that has opened the door to electronics engineering and physical computing to creative minds everywhere.
Arduino Manchester will be celebrating by playfully re-thinking interactivity and games controllers. Based around a concept dubbed the ‘Awkward Arcade’ by organiser James Medd, the aim of the day is to come up with creative, bizarre, or potentially anti-intuitive ways to play the games we’ve come to know and love.
We’ll have a box of things to play with on the day, but any parts, components, games, emulators or anything that you think might help would be a wonderful addition to the day. We’d also love to live-stream the event if anyone wants to help with that!
Examples of projects done in the past:
‘Mr. Cool’ – Tekken Piano Controller:
Javier Lloret – Puzzle Facade:
James Medd – orientation-sensitive Pac-Man
Awkward Arcade: motion-controller for Pac-Man
Ian Sharp – Cyclepong (not actually Arduino, but certainly applicable):
